Last May 23, the Philippine Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (PhilAAPA) staged the first and biggest gathering of educational tour operators in the country at the Makati Sports Club.
With the objective of fostering camaraderie and union among the major amusement and attractions industry players and the educational tour operators, PhilAAPA and Enchanted Kingdom President Mario O. Mamon stated that "the response to our call for this 'summit' was simply amazing! It gives us in the amusement and attractions industry an opportunity to introduce our association to a major component of our market, educational tours, and at the same time follow through with our objectives of uniting the industry and setting mutually beneficial standards and policies among all those concerned."
PhilAAPA members which include Enchanted Kingdom, SM Family Entertainment Centers, Inc., PETCO / Boom na Boom, Star City, Zoomanity Group, Manila Ocean Park and Resorts World Manila, among others, participated as exhibitors and sponsors of the event. Add this to the over 500 tour operators from all over the country were in attendance to take part in this momentous event.
“We appreciate PhilAAPA’s effort of bringing together all the tour operators as well as the big players in the amusement and attractions industry. It really gives a good chance for us to be more motivated to market the industry in our country,” said Ms. Beth Balderas, from Hunnypot Educational Tours. “We also hope that for the next assembly, we can have more exhibitors and more talks about the significance of promoting the industry and what can we do more to help,” she added.
The assembly addressed the PhilAAPA's objective of having all its members demonstrate EXCITE in all their activities and relations. EXCITE which stands for Empowerment, X-Factor uniqueness of the Philippines, Customer-focused, Innovation, Teamwork, and Entertainment.
The PhilAAPA looks forward to change the Philippine amusement and attractions industry landscape to provide the best experiences for Filipinos and foreign tourists alike.
