'Snapshots' Photo Exhibit Opens at Kamuning Bakery Cafe

Kamuning Bakery Cafe -- already a Quezon City landmark for its baked goodies served for generations -- is also fast becoming a hub for art and culture.

This month, Kamuning Bakery Cafe in cooperation with Project Art presents the third solo photography exhibition of Giselle P. Kasilag. Titled Snapshots, it brings viewers on a quick tour of urban scenes, architecture and nature views in such places as Melacca, Hong Kong, Seoul, Zurich, Kyoto and Barcelona.

Snapshots also features pieces uniquely combining images and words. A journalist for many years, Kasilag created short fictional narratives for some of her photographs.
"Whether through text or pictures, or putting the two together, I just love telling stories. I'm grateful that I'm able to share my many interests through exhibits like Snapshots -- writing, photography, travel, culture and heritage," Kasilag enthuses.

Since rediscovering photography three years ago, Kasilag has found a variety of outlets for her works. She has joined digital photography events in New York where her pictures have been projected onto the side of a building in Long Island and on electronic billboards in Times Square.

Last July, she participated in the Exposure Award 2015 where her photograph, Spiral Orange, was exhibited at the Louvre Museum. The same piece was included in the Architecture Collection -- a book based on that exhibit.
